Please could somone help me,
I picked up my new compi 2 days ago, and im having real bad teething
problem,i booted up got into windows xp home edition.I was asked to register
and activate.I thought no prob,i had a good interent connection (cable high
speed) the trouble began when i tried to activate,i kept getting the mesage
"no internet connection" i think this was because the on boad sound system
had been tuned off in the bios,in order that i could use the new audigy ex
sound card.my other lan is working and i had a good connection to the
internet email etc.How do i get windows though to use the connection which
is working and not the one which i think has been deactivated?
well troubles never come in ones,i then installed a piece of software
called win cinema or something similar,i was asked to boot up,then the real
**** began, windows would not let me into the system without avtivation,i
have no modem installed.Whatever i tried helped not! because i had so much
work i was forced to try and reinstall xp,no problem thought i.Well i got to
the point where i had to type in the product key,and it wont accept the
number, please ive written and rechequed the number 1000 times, the shop where
i brought the machine has its holiday until the end of next week, can anyone
tell me whats happened? why wont this number be accepted, how can i activate
if the machine wont accept that the there are to lans, one i think is on the
asus motherboard.this is of course all theory until i can get into the
system. Will i be forced to format the drive? and if so can somone explain to
me step for step how? any help would be gratefully accepted.
thanks Keith

Your post is very confusing. What does the sound card have to do with
internet connections? Have you added a NIC card? Does your motherboard have
a onboard NIC? How are you connected to the internet? Give us some concise
questions and details and someone will give you an answer.
