Odds are pretty good that your OS (XP Home) has
recognized your CD burner. While I am no fan of XP Home,
I offer the following suggestion. Go to your control
panel option and check your system icon. See if Windows
has recognized your CD burner as a device. If not, click
add a device and let Windows help find it. If it has
recognized your burner( ie. it's listed as a device),
then check your driver to be certain that you have one
that is XP compatible. If you use CD burner software (eg.
Roxio CD creator)you must be certain that you update the
program to XP on their web site. Before undertaking this
task, check Windows update for a driver update. In this
regard XP Home is a vast improvement over 98SE.
