problems after uniustalling 811493

Have been having major problems with PC for quite a while.
After doing some reading about XP patch 811493 I
uninstalled it and performance is much better. Problem
now is PC randomly reboots itself without assistance from
me. Driving me crazy! Rebooting about three times per
hour! Has anyone had this problem or can anyone offer any
assistance?

Right click My Computer, click Properties, click Advanced tab.
Click Settings button by "Start-up and recovery"
Uncheck "Automatically restart" under "System Failure"
The next time it happens, you will see the error instead of just a
reboot.

away. What is causing this if it a system failure?

It could be many things.
Excessive heat, hardware problems.
Less likely but possible software problems.
