I need to delete this win-xp upgrade (SP2) Q811493 - I have no
add/remove button in the add/remove programs, so I must do this somehow
manually....

I don't want to reinstall windows XP or reformat my PC...... can I
somehow do it through the registry??

Any other suggestions???

JP

in add/remove programs, my xp updates are all listed at the bottom.... there is
actually no button/box at the top that says, show updates...... there is no
option to 'remove' beside any of my upgrades....

No, it didn't... There was a restore point, and I tried it, but it said it
was unable to restore it for a reason I forget now......

Thanks,

Thanks.... been there, done that.... it doesn't tell me how to manually
REMOVE this upgrade. Like I said, I am aware that there has been a
corrected/improved patch - I did already download this, but I have not had
any improvement since. I just would like to remove it, like I explained in
my original post - How do I remove it????

I have no option to remove in the add/remove programs....

Thanks....

Didn't it make a restore point when you were installing SP2?

If so maybe running the restore point will do what you need.
