Greetings. Please let me know how to deal with this
real annoynace (I run into the same annoynace with
another machine runing W2K Pro and ended up upgrading
to XP Pro -- it is now happening on a different machine
running XP Pro SP1):

I get this annoying message:

The device driver for the `Standard
101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2
Keyboard' device is preventing the machine
from entering standby. Please close all
applications and try again. If the problem
persists, you may need to update this driver.'

One of the consequences: it disconnects
my USB wireless adapter card; the only
way to re-activate it is to restart
the computer or remove the USB device
and plug it back in.

Very annoying.

Open your Device Manager and right-click on your keyboard.
Click on the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer
to turn off this device to save power". Place a checkmark next to
"Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". Afterward,
click "OK".

Repeat this procedure for your mouse.
