computer crashed when installing the XP patch!

What can I do to get my laptop up again. It crashed when
the XP patch was installing. I have made a boot up disk
(6 of them) for XP and even they won't boot up my laptop.
At first scan disk came up checking the drive and
afterwards the laptop crashed again. I tried the Restore
CD from the manufactor and ...nothing. I just re-
registered my XP professional as I had a new hard drive
installed. Everything worked great until the XP patch was
installing.
