Hi, everyone.

I have questions about Windows XP Service Pack 2, and
security center.

I have heard that XP SP2 has a problem with antivirus
software.

I searched the Internet and Microsoft Newsgroup to find
more information about it. And I found that XP SP2 has
some problems with 3rd party antivirus software.
Norton, McAfee and some other antivirus software are also
not recognized by XP SP2.

I want to know if it is just bug or it is because the 3rd
party antivirus software company did not member or
registere as 'Antivirus Partner Program' or member
of 'Microsoft Virus Initiative Forum'.

Anyone knows what is the real reason?

If it is just bug, is it going to be fine when Micorsoft
offically release SP2?

Thank your for reading...

Notwith standing the above, I have a comment on it (using the beta build
2082 - have downloaded RC1 but have yet to install it as I can't be
bothered hacking and recompiling my hacked uitheme.dll agsin to make my
themes work). The problem is I haven't found a way through the Windows
Firewall to let my ETrust Antivirus autodownload updates. I have tried
allowing it, but it does not allow a connection to be made and
consequently it times out. I have made sure I was allowing each program
component of ETrust to connect in the firewall.

The inevitable result is I have disabled the XP2 firewall and all the
services that are required to start for it to work, and am using
ZoneAlarm Pro, which doesn't exhibit the same problem. It's a litle bit
disappointing and I'm hoping it gets ironed out before SP2 goes gold.

Hi

I use ZAP, so haven't seen your situation. Have you sent a bug report =
in, so that the problem can be looked at?
