xp doesnt recognize cd-rom/cdrw

When I plug my cd-rom and cdrw up xp doesnt recoginzes them
but when I unhook one of them it will the one that I left
hooked up.Why is this?

Hello

Take a look at your jumper setting on your cdrom drives
and make sure that you have them jumpered correctly. one
should be master and cdrom 2 should be slaved, or all
depends on how you have them configured. Remove your
case and look at your setup on the drives
