i need change serial number of hard disk in windows xp
professional.

You might know there are two serial numbers.

The first one is the Volume Serial Number or VSN in the bootsector that
is written there while formatting the disk.
This number can easily be changed even using Debug.
But using SysInternals "VolumeID" may be most comfortable.

The second is the manufacturers serial number written into the firmware
of the disk in the factory.
This number you can read from the disk with the ATA Identify Device
function (together with much more info) but can't be changed.
