application error message

I can't install any games. I keep getting the message
application error. something about wow.exec has caused a
general fault in mssystem.dll. If I reboot, that error
message is the first thing to come up on the screen. If
anyone can walk me thru how to fix this, I would be so
happy!!!LoL, can you help me, please??????
