My apartrment got flooded and my computer got wet, during
the storm about two weeks ago. When I plug up the
computer the light on the back of the pc comes on to let
you know that the power is connected from the wall, but
when I hit the power button nothing happens. Can anyone
tell me what steps I need to take to try and resolve my
problem.

The computer is a emachines T1100. The help would be
greatly appreciated.

Your computer is H-I-S-T-O-R-Y! Water is public enemy #1
when it enters a computer and shorts out the electronics. Do=20
not attempt to plug in the computer and repair it!

Depending whether or not the PC was powered on when it got wet, the
motherboard/power supply may have shorted out!

If the system was "soaked" then the internal switches may have corrosion on
the power connections.

Your best bet is to bring the system to a local repair shop. They could
then tell you which components have "fried" and depending on your insurance
policy, you may be able to claim the repairs.
