I bought a Packard Bell iMedia SL system last week. I
upgraded the Windows XP home edition to Windows XP
professional. I need to install a firewire (1394) card.
I have tried two cards but the same problem occures with
both.
Problem: The system recognises the cards as a "IEEE 1394
Controller" but with no manufacturer or ohci complience
and then attempts to find a driver, it fails to find a
suitable driver on the PC or on the internet.
I checked the drivers used on another machine in
windows/system32/drivers and some 1394 drivers were
missing so I copied them over but it made no difference.
Both cards proport to be windows XP compatible.
Does anyone know what is going on here?
