View Full Version : Trouble Installing LCD monitor

I bought a flat screen today at the local CompUSA. It is
listed as a plug and Play. The make is "Kogi."

The problem is that I cannot seem to get it to continue
displaying after the initial Windows XP screen. However,
I can hear the music for the desktop a few moments after
the screen stops displaying. When I plug my old monitor
in I can see everything is fine.

I am worried that perhaps my graphics card "All-In-Wonder
Radeon" is incompatible with the screen for some odd
reason. If someone knows what the solution is, I would be
very gratefull. Thanks for your time.

What video format does the new LCD monitor require, digital
or analog? Can you use either or both?
Which version of the ATI AIW do you have? Have you checked
both Kogi and ATI websites for drivers?

Did you remove your previous monitor with device manager
before you plugged the LCD in so it would be forced to
detect a monitor? Have you tried using DV to update your
monitor?

I shall try to answer the questions you asked below as
best to my knowledge. ...

The video format requires an analog input cable (15 Pin D-
Sub).

I attempted to find sites for both screen and current
system but only found the ATI site. However, I could not
locate an area where I could find any drives.

I have removed the old monitor (also a plug-and-play)
with the device manager and rebooted with the new screen.
However, I was met with the results mentioned in the
first post.

I am unsure as to what the DV is, so I cannot answer your
question concerning it.

What is your screen resolution? If it more than the monitor can show, it
won't show anything..... (15" LCD usually 1024*768, no more..)
