I have posted this question before, & I noticed there's
another post with the same problem, but it seems no one
can answer the question...
Everytime Windows Messenger logs in, it states that one
of my contacts has added me, & would I like to add this
person or block this person from my list. It's normally
the same few contacts who are being repeatedly "added".
I've tried uninstalling, & reinstalling & am now running
version 5.0 with the same problem.
I am experiencing this problem on two separate computers,
so I'm thinking it's an issue with the login id & not
Windows messenger.
Any solutions?
Thanks,
dirk

Greetings Dirk,

Can you e-mail me with your Passport please? I can look into it further for you, but you're
right, it is an account thing and not related to your PC.

I have also reported this problem before. But for me it is a little different. I experince this problem on my home machine, but not my work machine. Both machines sign into the same passport account , so this seems to suggests it is a local problem on m
y home machine with my account.

Other users of the same machine do not experince this problem. Is there some configuration file that cane be wiped and rebuilt from scratch?

I am experiencing the exact same problem you are seeing... I was seeing it
only on my home machine and never on my work machine. I assumed, as you did,
that it must be something about my home machine. I tried cleaning out
temporary files, uninstalling messenger, reinstalling messenger, etc. all to
no avail. I recently built a new machine at home and the problem also
occurred on the new machine which was a completely fresh install.

I did find that installing MSN Messenger reduced the frequency of the
problem occurring but has not completely eradicated it.

Jonathan - I have sent you my passport address as well, regarding this
issue.
