My laptop won't let me update the bios because my battery
isn't charged (and it won't be at $200 to replace).
Anyone know a work around?

Greetings --

The only ones likely to know a work-around to this would be the
laptop's manufacturer.

Why bother to flash the BIOS on a computer you will not use?

Do a search on Google for battery replacement for your
make/model, there is bound to be a cheaper version.

I think the BIOS is talking about the cmos battery and that
simply CANNOT be $200.00. If someone tries to charge you
$200.00 for a cmos battery tell them to go jump.

YOU, on the other hand, are THINKING the big battery
for computer power. Not the same thing.
