Win xp boot error DMI POOL DATA *(Please HELP)

Hi,

Just installed my new sony DVD burner, now when i turn the
pc on it says "
Verifying DMI Pool Data" but then stops. This never
usually happens it
usaully continues to load.

The only way i can get xp to load is put the xp cd in the
drive and just
leave it for a min and it will boot from cd.

I have taken the burner out and put everything back to
what it was and it
still doesnt load without the xp cd now.

Please help.

Hmm. Brendon...turn off comp, and check all cables. Also carefully swap
the two IF cables...just for fun. Then restart and press DELETE (or w/e you
press to enter the BIOS) during boot-up, and locate the screen where drives
can be set to AUTO-detect. Ensure they are indeed set this way.

Then find the screen where the 'boot sequence' sets which drives the BIOS
checks in which order...looking for boot files. Ensure HDD is first,
followed by CD, then floppy. Re-boot and pls follow-up.
