xp and virus

I got a virus on my computer which is now sorted due to
anti virus softwear. stupidly though i deleted an .exe
file needed to run a lot of things when i panicked cos it
had the virus on it. I have the xp cd and am trying to
use it to 'fix' xp. the problem is you must run it as
administrator, and i don thave a password for it. I
bought the comp of a friend and he has no idea what it is
either. surely there must be a way round this...ppl must
have forgotten a password before???

Haven't used it myself, worth a try, if it works, please post results!
