problem with printer ( canon bjc 4200 )

i am new to pc`s and have bought a canon bjc 4200,i have
down load`d a compatible driver & have add`d an install
programe,the power light flashes amber & green witch it
has done since ive had it,i would be very greatful if any
one can help me.
