I need some advice on what video card to buy. I dont
want most expensive but rather something from last year
or the year before that will work perfectly with Windows
XP. I really want to hear from someone that knows what
will work and what won't. Or has little support. only
want to spend about $100. Thanks Dan

By the Nvidia FX5200, it's as close as being w/the top dogs, w/out spending
too much cash, furthermore Nvidia does a great job in catering to the public
in terms of updates and support.

Go to Bestbuy or Compusa, and wait for their sunday fliers w/rebates galore,
there is one manufacturer that actually bundles it w/games. You should be
able to find these at around $100.00 to $150.00
At Bestbuy:

Decide what you want to do with the card, are you interested
in playing the latest and most complex games or do you have
modest graphics needs?
If you spend $100 on a card that won't run the games you
want, as well as you want, considering frame rate,
resolution and color, you will have wasted $100. Look at
the games you want to check the recommended hardware. Ask
some "gamers" then buy what you want and can afford.
If you buy a card that won't work, you'll just have to buy
another.

What kind of comuter do you have. You need to explain that and if you can
shut off the MB video. Also some of the AGP cards can be a bear to install
if you do not have exactly the right combination and the proper MB driver
preinstalled. I ended up with a PCI ATI Radeon 7500 on sale and it is works
beautifully. Look for a card on sale, especially with rebates.
