WOULD BE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL IF ANYONE CAN HELP !!!!

I recently upgraded from Win ME to Win XP Pro. Prior to
the upgrade, I archived all of my data files onto a CD-R,
but this disk now can't be read from.

I archived the data files directly onto the CD-R using
WinZip. I did this in Explorer by right clicking on the
folder to archive, then from the menu selecting
WinZip\Add to Zip File\New Archive, and browsing to the
CD drive. After doing this I checked to make sure I could
open the files...no prob.

I then proceeded to format the hard-drive and upgrade...
bye bye data files.

Now I can't recover anything from the CD-R.

The 3rd party CD burning software that was installed at
the time was Adaptec DirectCD. I've since gone to the
Roxio site to download an XP version of the Adaptec UDF
reader, but this hasn't helped.

I've also installed a number of other CD softwares,
including Nero (which was highly recommended), but none
will read the darn disk!!

Have tried on 3 different pc's, but still no luck.

PLEASE HELP ME!?!?!?!?

Download WinZip 8.1 and use WinZip to open the CD...If you
used a packet write software to burn the CD and you didn't
save it in a finalized format, you'll need the same or a
compatible program to read the disk.
