I am unable to install a firewire card on my computer. I
have tried two different cards and get the same error.
the hardware wizard starts to install the device and then
stops saying that an error occured during the
installation of the device and that the data is invalid.
any help would be greatly appreciated

1. did you try a different PCI slot, maybe slot is bad.
2. did you make sure BIOS os up to date?
3. is system software like 4in1 drivers up to date?
4. is system drivers for firewire uncorrupted?
5. try fw card(s) in another system to see if cards ok.
later,
dave.......

That error is due to a registry permission
prob Brad.
Go to start/run. Type regedit.
Then go here.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\PCI
Go the entry where it shows that videocard (click
on the +'s). When u find it, highlight it, and select
permissions, then tick Full control. Reboot, then
the driver should load with no probs at all.
