When trying to burn pictures using Windows XP, it will
not recognize the CD in the CDROM burner.

I have a Toshiba laptop using Windows XP.

It will not burn music on Windows Media Player and
Windows will not burn pictures. This is very frustrating
and I have not been able to get any help because it is a
software problem. The CDROM/DVD burner/reader is working
properly. The drives are installed. I have restored
this laptop to it's factory state. It worked for two
weeks.

It will say on the wizard, when trying to download
pictures, that "There is no disk in drive. Please insert
a writable CD into drive D:\."

It will not burn music files when using Windows Media
Player or Media Jukebox.

I have used brand new CD-R and CD-RWs. It will still not
recognize that there is a CD in the drive.

Please help. I am ready to throw this laptop through Best
Buy's front window. This is the second time I have been
through this and I don't want to restore it again. Is
there software that I am downloading that is not
compatible with Windows XP which is corrupting the files
that are used to burn to the DVD/CDROM burner.

Thanks.
