if for some reason you delete a program folder etc before
using the add/remove feature. How do you remove the
program from the add/remove list??

Try to select it in add/remove. It should give you a prompt that it cannot
locate the program, and ask if you want to remove it from add/remove.

Edit the registry. If you for example you removed prog 'xyz' then click
start, run, regedit, OK, click edit, find, type in 'xyz'. When found, delete
it.
