I recently purchased a epson 1660 scanner. the
instructions said to load the software from the disc
before connecting the scanner . When i ran the software
disc it would not load as it kept coming up with error
messages on all the software on the disc, Smart scan,
Photoimpression and 2 others I cant remember the names .
the question is is this software able to run on windows
xp. I downloaded the drivers of the epson site and I can
now use the scanner however I cannot use any software that
came with the unit

What kind of errors? You may need to contact Epson as the disc may be
corrupt. AFAIK, all software that comes with Epson's latest scanners is
fully XP compatible.
