Hey all,
I'm going for the "icon-free" look on my desktop. I've
managed to get rid of all but one icon, the Recycle Bin.
Any ideas on how to get the icon to disappear? I have
active desktop enabled and the "hide desktop" icon selected,
but the recycle bin reappears every time I reboot. Thanks
in advance.

try to use the TweakUI.exe of powertoy to configurate your explorer.

Start>Run and enter REGEDIT
Navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{647BD8C2-658B-4ECA-ABC7-FC5C0BF1704D}
Right click on the {647BD8C2-658B-4ECA-ABC7-FC5C0BF1704D} sub key and select
Delete. Go back to your desktop, right click and select Refresh.
Note I recommend saving registry key first in case you change your mind or wish
to replace the recycle bin at a later stage.
On the File menu, click Export. In the File name box, type RecycleBinKey, and
then click Save.
Disclaimer: Modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require
you to reinstall your operating system. Use the information provided at your own
