black screen

Hi,

(Not running any games)

Keep getting grey/black screen with floating/flashing characters. At the
moment it happens when I execute a prog from cmd line.

Can anyone help?

yep, XP Home Ed.

mmm, it always happens after running chkdsk form run box.

But I suspect it has happened other times aswell.
