I am currently running Windows XP for Video Editing with a
cheap $15 firewire card and a Sony TRV-27. I have Premiere
and Movie Maker in the past and they have worked
flawlessly. I have even used Avid Xpress DV on my system.
Just in the past week though, XP didn't recognize my
camera at all. It usually comes shows the "Found New
Hardware" box in the in the traybar, but it just doesn't
show up. When I load up my editing programs it acts like
the camera isn't there by just saying "No Devices
Connected". I don't think it would be the camera's fault
because it indicates that the DV connection in intact.
I've even tried to use the memory stick function with a
USB Cable and I still get the same problem. If anyone
knows how to correct the problem, any help would be
appreciated.
