HOW/WHERE are the settings I can check so I WILL be booted
offline and my phone will ring when someone is trying to
call me? (Running XP-Pro) I have call waiting, and
before, with Win98, if I didn't use the *70 then my ISP
phone#, I'd get booted offline and could answer my calls.
I played with a bunch of settings yesterday, and I can
either get a busy signal, or a constant ring, but it won't
boot me off. My ISP does not support the "Dell Modem on
Hold" feature that came with my new computer. I've also
removed that DM on HOLD from my start up. Any help would
be much appreciated...I'm missing tons of calls. :-(

This might not be the fix you want but it'll work. You can
go to http://www.winsite.com and go to the freeware page.
Look for a caller id program which will catch your calls,
flash your screen and blast your speakers with every incoming
call and give you the phone number on screen of the person who is so
audaciously and unashamedly trying to interrupt your surfing time.

And the contents of the depths of hell if it's double glazing/kitchen
sales/someone wanting to know if you're happy with your phone provider!
