I bought a oem version of Windows XP and installed it on
a computer that has some programs that won't run with
XP. I want to reinstall Windows 98 so that certain
programs, I have, can be run. If I were to format the
hard drive and install Windows 98, could I later
reinstall my Windows XP even though it has been
registered? I'm trying to find out if I threw my money
away on this copy of Windows XP.

Hi,
Yes you'll be able to reinstall your Windows XP as long as it's the same
computer. Since it's activated on that machine you're fine. If you make
drastic hardware changes to your computer then you may run into a few
activation issues.

Hello
Here is something to try, you can DUAL-BOOT which seems
like an option for you

Did you try running the programs in compatibility mode?
They may run that way, and you'll be able to keep XP on your computer.
