printer

i have downloaded every updated version of hp laser 4L
jet printer but win xp keeps giving me an error message
"to add printer". what do i need to do to rectify this
problem??????????????????? please help

My 4L was detected during XP Pro install and works just fine - no need
to download any driver here.

Maybe he added the printer after the inital install of xp? His error
message
would indicate that.

I went that route the first time I installed XP. I plugged in the
printer into the parrallel port and it was detected and set up
automatically.
