Is there any way to make Windows XP boot from a PCI Raid
Controller once it's already been installed from the
motherboard controller? Other than reinstalling?
Thanks,
Jason

Go to the mfr site of the scsi raid card and see if they have a
special driver for raid. If they do download it, execute it,
whatever and put it on diskette.
Do a repair install and press F6 when prompted for scsi drivers.
Install the scsi drivers and continue with the repair until such
time as it lets you exit.
Voila!

1. Put the card in without attaching the harddrive to it yet.
2. Boot to Windows let it find the card and load the drivers.
3. Shut down after drivers have been installed for the card.
4. Hook harddrive to controller and try booting.
This method work for me using a Promise ATA133 (not RAID),card, but the method should work just the
same. You will have to follow the manufactures suggestions about the RAID setup, you should be able
to mirror the existing drive without any problems but you probably won't be able to setup a striped
set without starting from scratch.
