Update the driver? Easiest way is to delete the modem using
the device manager and re-boot. It will be detected and the
"best" driver will be installed. Check device manager or
use Bel Arc Advisor www.belarc.com or AIDA32 to determine
the exact make and model of your modem and download the
current XP driver.

It is possible that spring storms have damaged telephone
lines and your speed is limited by conditions outside your
control. Listen on the phone to see if there is static,
clicks or pops which would indicate a loose or bad
connection. Your phone company might respond to a call, but
often if you can talk, they won't fix it any better. So, if
it is noisy, it is "so noisy you can't understand" what is
being said to you. Hint for telephone complaints.

Hello

Find out who mkaes your modem and go to there website
and download the latest drivers for it. On your modem card
it should have a chipset on it, like Lucent, Pc-Tel, or Motorola
and go to there website and download. or try www.driverguide.com
