For the past two days I've had trouble starting the
computer. Once past the boot-up screen it shows a screen
which says my M,N and O drives need to be checked which
takes on average 2 to 3 hours to complete. I can by-pass
this by not allowing the check to be made but end up with
a very slow computer. I've also noticed that my N drive,
which was set as FAT32 is now showing as having no file
system. Is there a way to re-allocate the File System
(FAT32 or NTFS) without having to re-format the drive as
this would lose everything stored on it?

Boot up then run scandisk/chkdsk on the drives. It kinda
sounds like you might have bad sectors and in the case of
the drive whose files have disappeared the boot record of
that drive may be corrupted.
