Hello

Well do you have the correct drivers on floppy disk or
maybe a cdrom, that support your OS, find that out first
ok, or try going to the manufacturer of that product website
and trying to locate the correct drivers for it.

Hi Nicola

When you have the AT-2500 in the computer, which network adapter shows in
the device manager?

If the one you have replaced is still showing then "remove" it from the
device manager and restart the computer.

If you have the Allied Telesyn installation disk there is an installation
programme on the CD which may be of use instead of the Windows Hardware
wizard. The Allied Telesyn website also has the manual and drivers you need
with details of the procedures required for removing and installing or
updating a network driver.

Hope that helps
Pete

Nicola,

You have to take ol' Al's responses with a grain of salt. He doesn't
understand
that the system isn't detecting a plug and play nic. Wake up, Al!

With the computer off try to unplug and plug the nic in again. Sometimes
they don't seat properly. Be sure to plug the network cable in again, too.
If that doesn't work then if you have another blank pci slot then try that
other slot.

Also, could it be that the drivers for the old nic are compatible with the
new nic so that it would seem to be already installed? Check in device
manager to see if there is a network adapter listed.

If could be listed as the old or new nic and using the same drivers.

Regards.....

Sals

I have heard many people say that there is nothing worse than someone
who doesn't know what he/she is doing. There IS something worse. That is
someone who THINKS that he/she knows what he/she is doing, but really
doesn't!
