my laptop turns itself off while playing divx films?

hi my laptop keeps turning itself off after about 10 to 15
mins of watching a divx film, i can watch a whole dvd
without interuption. does anybody know why it is doing
this?

A couple of questions:
1. What media player are you using to play the divx film?
2. Have you downloaded the latest divx drivers?
3. Does this happen on all divx films or just a few?

Have you tried turning off your screen saver? The DVD player may be
telling the system to "stay awake" while the DIVX player may not.
