Hello all,
I have installed XP Pro on a new computer, to which i
attached a Lucent WinModem which was working fine. I had
to reinstall XP because I couldn't make a home network
with my laptop. After reinstallation, the home network
works fine, but the modem doesn't.
Namely, the Device Manager sees the Modem, drivers are
installed, there is NO conflict, "device is working
properly", and even querrying the modem gives success.
The modem is attached to COM3 port, which is not in use.
However, when I want to set up my (dial-up) connection
(which I could setup before), the "Set-up a dial-up
connection" option in the New Connection Wizard is greyed
out and I cannot select it! Anyone can help? Thanks.

PS: This is even wierder because my office computer which
does NOT have a modem present at all, does NOT grey out
the dial-up connection in the wizard... Do I need to
reinstall XP? :)
