Hi
I have just setup my first dual boot (XP and 98) and when I start 98 the
system either hangs immediatly or fairly soon after booting. I am getting
the error message msgsrv32. It then holds. I have tried updating my drivers
(sis650) but not having much luck as I think they are as new as they can
get - (Although I wouldnt place money)
Does anyone have any ideas....
Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt,
I would say from your description that the problem is isolated to Win98. =
The message about msgsrv32 not responding is an indication of a software =
problem, likely related to something loading at boot. See if you can get =
to Safe mode by depressing and holding the <ctrl> key AFTER selecting =
Win98 from the boot loader. If you can, try the steps listed here:

Hi Rick, Thanks for your response.
Unfortunatly I have a laptop with no PS2 mouse port, the touchpad doesn't
work in safe mode nor does the keyboard and I only have a USB Optical mouse,
which also doesn't work. If I boot in safe mode I can't get out of it or do
anything.. Any ideas?

Hi,
Then at least try the step-by-step confirmation boot and see if you can =
figure out where it is hanging. Without the keyboard or mouse in Safe =
mode, you may have a difficult time trying to resolve this. Any idea why =
the keyboard at least will not work?
