I have boxes of old software on 5-1/4 inch floppys so I
keep a 5-1/4 inch drive around if I ever need to access
any of it although the possibility is unlikely.
I notice that every MB BIOS I've seen still supports 5-1/4
inch drives though some systems are now being sold without
floppy drives at ALL!
There are still some things where a floppy drive is
desirable. I still use one to backup my Quicken files.
