I reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition after installing a
new hard drive. I set it up with four users. On two of
the user names, the Start Button and Taskbar no longer
appear when Windows starts up, and none of the functions
of the Start button can be performed. I located a
shortcut to the Start Menu somewhere in Control Panel,
but it did not work -- nothing came up. The Start menu
also does not appear when I click Explore from My
Computer. At one point the Start Button reappeared on
one of the user names, but it is gone again. I cannot
think of any changes or actions that were taken that
might have affected the start button. Does anyone have
any idea what happened? Is there any way to get it back?
