I bought a Windows XP update program and I installed it
alright (with no problem what so ever) and after I
installed it I booted it and the Windows XP loading thing
came up and the some music played and every thing but my
screen's light was yellow which usually meant it is
asleep but the computer was wake. So, I do not know
what is wrong and my computer is a Gateway Select 750
with a FPD1500 Gateway monitor.

This could be due to driver error resulting in windows not being able to
initialize the screen.
If you boot up in safemode with networking, windows should use generic
drivers so you can install the correct ones, or download them off of the
net.

To boot into safemode with networking, turn on your computer and just before
the windows boot logo appears, push F8, select safemode with networking, and
then on the 2nd menu that appears, select windows xp.

Windows should boot up with limited function. Once booted, you can install
your graphics card and monitor drivers.
