I've been trying to restore the programsa and settings
that originaly came with the computer because they
accidentaly got erased. I tried the application recovery
but it didn't help much. I cant use the system recovery
because I dont have the CD or the Hard Disk, we never got
one when we bought the computer. What do I do to get one
or how do I restore the programs?

Francisco;
Check your manual and/or contact the computer manufacturer.
If your computer is OEM, the manufacturer is the only source for
replacement CDs and not Microsoft.

If your computer did not come with a CD, MS does require the
OEM to provide some method for recovery. Many OEM's do this
with a hidden partition on the hard drive. Check your
manual or call your OEM customer service and ask how to do
it on your model. If you run FDISK you will likely destroy
that recovery partition.

You can probably talk the OEM out of a CD set, they save
about $3 on each computer by not shipping CDs.
