How do I get a power supply going to the new hard drive?
I've got it installed and I've got an extra power cable
but where does it plug in to?

Sorry, not quite sure what you mean? Are we talking about an internal or
external drive? For an internal you need to do the following: -

1) Make sure jumpers on drive are set to slave (assuming you're setting
it as a slave).
2) Place drive in bay and screw in firmly.

3) Plug the free end of the IDE cable (fat ribbon cable with red stripe -
usually grey) into the only connector on the back of the drive it will fit.

3) Find a free molux connector (white with four holes in it corresponding
to the four fat pins on the back of the drive).

Your drive should new be recognised by the system

For an external, simply hook up to the relevant port
(Serial/FireWire/USB(2)) and switch on. Plugging into the mains is not
required.

Post back and let me know if that helped.
