View Full Version : bluetooth mouse dead! can't find new batteries

I've got the Microsoft wireless Bluetooth mouse (on my pc with winXP), which
has worked fine untill it recently ran out of batteries and therefore
naturally stopped working. I have put brand new batteries into it and gone
through the procedure in the software that came with it to refind the mouse,
but nothing works. The mouse just stays dead.
Several times I have uninstalled the mouse via the control panel and
reinstalled it again, but nothing works. According to the software the
mouse's batterylevel just keeps on being 'critically low'. (and yes - I have
also tried with another set of new batteries).

Has anyone got any ideas to this very annoying problem ?

Cheers,
Ulrik

Hi, Ulrik.

I don't have Bluetooth anything. But I do have the Microsoft Wireless
Desktop (keyboard and mouse). A couple of times I've had to press the
Connect Channel buttons on the bottom of the mouse (and keyboard) and the
little sending unit. Since your batteries ran down, you may need to do
something like this, too.

Thanks, but I have done that already and it didn't help.
I have gone though the whole procedure in the intellipoint software for
refinding the bluetooth device but nothing works.

Serious question... have you put the batteries in the correct way round? :o)

Serious answer: yes, I have indeed :)
There is even full light in the mouse when I move it around, but there is
just absolutely no contact with the computer. The intillipoint software just
keeps on saying that the batterylevel is critically low, even though the
batteries are brand new...

try removing the bluetooth mouse from "control panel->wireless links", and
then re-run the wizard to reinstall it.

Hi there,

I had this and what I had to do was uninstall the keyboard and mouse
software and reinstall it again.

Kol.
