My ME-320 usb hard drive enclosure is recognized in device manager,
but it is not seen in "disk management" or control panel as a drive
in Windows XP.
What could be the problem?

The enclosure would be seen and if the hard drive is in the enclosure,
fdisked and formatted it would then be recognized and installed.

You may have to install it in your computer as a slave to your C: drive
then use a win98 boot diskette to fdisk and format it. The win98 boot
diskette can be found at http://www.bootdisk.com

You may not have initialized the disk in disk management....
