Can't change power options

Hello. Tonight I went into the control panel to access and
change some power options. I wanted to set up a power
scheme so that my monitor would turn off after 5 minutes
of inactivity. When I clicked the Power Options icon, I
saw that the options on the Power Schemes tab were all
grayed out. Because of that, I can't set any schemes. How
can I get the options back so I can make changes? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check the settings in your BIOS forACPI being enabled
