Hi
I am trying to install the above device and having a few problems.
Its based on the Silicon Image SIL0680 chip and is capable of both RAID =
and as just another IDE controller using Ultra ATA133.I am trying to =
install it as just a IDE controller and all goes well until I hook up an =
old WD hard drive.Nothing shows in Explorer or Administrative tools. The =
device is listed under device manager without any problems I just cant =
seem to be able to get it to recognize any HD attached to it.When the =
system boots I get a RAID configuration screen even though I do not have =
the RAID drivers loaded.I checked the HD and it works fine attached to =
the MOBO controller.
What am I missing or doing wrong????
peter

For my scsi card there are striped and non-striped drivers that I have to
load during initial set up of winxp. I am not using striped. If I
accidentally install the striped drivers xp won't see the hd.

Maybe your raid card is like that, too............separate drivers for
striped and non-striped. Check the mfrs website.

I forgot to add that I found this out AFTER buying the card and went to the
website of the mfr of my scsi card to look at the faq. The drivers and
documentation I received with the card made no mention of it because the mfr
didn't even discover the problem until after they were shipping cards.
