Screensavers ect

I have a win XP pro pc and for some unknown reason the
screensavers and the power saving properties, ie hibernate
and turn off monitor after 30 mins, have stopped working.
Is there anyone out there that could let me know why ?
All the new service packs ect have been installed.
Could it be a problem with the system clock or Scheduled
Tasks ?
The rest of the pc is working fine.

Another possible cause: an application that is running in the
background or a device driver prevents Windows from seeing the
computer as idle.
