I would think you have to load the drivers before it
boots. Are there just the raid drivers or ide too> Is
there any type of jumper setting for the raid/ide?

I have a striped raid array and you load the drivers for
them. Also you have to select the raid card/drives in the
bios boot up list as first boot

Hope that helps

using Ultra ATA133.I am trying to install it as just a IDE
controller and all goes well until I hook up an old WD
hard drive.Nothing shows in Explorer or Administrative
tools. The device is listed under device manager without
any problems I just cant seem to be able to get it to
recognize any HD attached to it.When the system boots I
get a RAID configuration screen even though I do not have
the RAID drivers loaded.I checked the HD and it works fine
attached to the MOBO controller.

Thank you for your reply
Maybe I was not clear in my question. All the drivers are loaded.Device =
manager shows no problem, but any drive connected to the IDE card will =
not show up under Explorer nor under Administrative tools/computer =
management.
I am not running a RAID config just another IDE controller in a PCI =
slot.I am using non-raid drivers but I am still getting a RAID config =
screen upon boot up.
what seems to be my problem??
