Search Companion Blank

[Dizzy Dee]

Whenever I click Search button, Search Companion comes up,
but is blank. Cannot edit the button in IE either. Tried
the fix recommended from MS, and tried the reinstall of the
file from the OS disk that came with the computer, but
won't install. Can anyone please help?

Thanks for the reply, but it didn't help. The reference on
that site talks about a different error--a pop up that says
a file is missing. I don't get ANYTHING at all, just a
blank screen with the words Search Companion at the top
that I can X out of. Can't make any editing changes or
anything to it.
