problems with Iomega Zip CD Burner on USB

I have been running XP for over 1year and using an Iomega
external CD burner on a USB connection.
The device has always worked. Recently it quit
recognizing the drive.
I have tried uninstalling the device and re-installing
it. I get a message about an error on install.
I have trie to update the driver but it says the driver
is the most current.
Anyone got any ideas on what I should try?

I don't have a solution, but have the exact same problem with my ZIO
100 USB. It has worked at first and occasionally. I had to
"reinstall" my XP and after installing my ZIP and rebooting, it
doesn't recognize it ... what do we do?
